Why this score?
Calculate with CPU, GPU and RAM to inspect the contribution of each category. Known compatibility failures must be resolved before an overall score is shown.
Scores are estimated from component characteristics and rule-based performance data. They are not measured benchmark results.

Build balance score · estimated
The rating is the equally weighted mean of available 0–100 dimensions. CPU, GPU and RAM capacity support gaming, productivity and balance; unavailable dimensions are excluded, never filled with zero. A partial rating has a different basis from a fully specified build. It does not represent FPS, measured benchmarks, or an upgrade guarantee.
Upgradeability and efficiency need a motherboard, PSU, cooler, catalog RAM kit and SSD alongside CPU/GPU to estimate power and reserve. Simple RAM capacity cannot identify modules or generation. Known compatibility failures hold the overall score; missing optional fit data stays unverified.
- Gaming
- 35% CPU gaming index + 65% GPU index.
- Productivity
- 65% CPU productivity index + 20% GPU + 15% RAM capacity (capped at 64 GB).
- Upgradeability
- 45 base + 5 per DIMM slot + 5 per M.2 slot + 10 for DDR5 + 10 for at least 30% PSU reserve.
- Efficiency
- 110 − estimated watts ÷ 12 + 8 for Gold or 12 for Platinum. This is a design proxy, not a certification or measured efficiency.
- Balance
- 100 − 1.3 × CPU/GPU index difference − 12 when memory is below 32 GB.
Each dimension is rounded and clamped to 0–100. Indices are maintained editorial estimates. Power warnings make a score provisional.
Know what you're checking.
CPU sockets, core counts and rated TDP; GPU VRAM, board power and PSU guidance come from AMD, Intel and NVIDIA.
GPU length and slot count are illustrative envelopes. LAB Reference hardware is a sample fixture. All USD prices and performance indices are estimates, with no retailer feed.
Verify exact models and manufacturer compatibility before buying parts.
How good is my PC?
This PC rating compares selected component characteristics with the same editorial indices used by the RIG // WORKBENCH builder. It helps explain hardware balance and missing information before you explore a complete build.
How the score works
Each supported dimension is rounded and clamped to 0–100. The overall PC score is their equally weighted mean. CPU, GPU and RAM capacity support three dimensions; platform and power inputs unlock the remaining two. Missing dimensions are excluded and known compatibility failures hold the rating.
What affects gaming performance?
Both CPU and GPU matter. The gaming estimate weights the GPU more heavily, but real performance also depends on the game, display resolution, settings, drivers and cooling.
What affects productivity performance?
The productivity estimate uses the CPU productivity index, GPU index and RAM capacity. Video-editing codecs, storage throughput and application acceleration can change real results; a capacity/type entry cannot measure them.
Why does PC balance matter?
Pairing similar CPU/GPU indices reduces the balance penalty, and at least 32 GB avoids its memory penalty. This describes the formula rather than a measured bottleneck or a recommendation to replace otherwise useful hardware.
Limits of an estimated computer performance rating
Partial inputs average only supported dimensions. Missing optional hardware remains unverified. Catalog coverage is limited, GPU geometry and LAB Reference hardware are illustrative, and no FPS, workload time, guaranteed upgrade path or manufacturer-specific fit is predicted.
